Welcome to BikeFit Surrey. We offer fun, social and relaxed led cycle rides of between one to two hours around SE Surrey, using a combination of quiet roads and bridlepaths. Fields, woodland and hidden tracks form a large part of our routes.
BikeFit offers three levels of riding:
Thank you for logging on. We hope you find the information helpful and look forward to seeing you out with us very soon!
Anyone and everyone looking to start cycling regularly or cycle in company is welcome at BikeFit rides. Busy Mums (or Dads!) looking to get back into shape and de-stress at the same time, retired people who would like to join in a welcoming and enjoyable activity that offers positive fitness benefits, or anybody who fancies coming along to try cycling in a group. The picture on the right shows some of our riders on an attractive bridleway near Horley on a Sunday pub ride in January. Undeterred by a cloudy sky, we enjoyed a great ride through the (slightly damp) countryside and then a magnificent roast! We mostly ride at 'conversational' or 'leisurely' pace, although some routes are harder than others.
Feeling rusty? Not sure where to start? Do you want to be able to get off and walk up the hills? Does traffic make you a little anxious? Do you worry about going a bit too fast? Our Ride Easy routes are probably best for you.
Tuesdays 9:45am for 10:00am.
These rides are largely on quiet roads or traffic free paths, working at the pace of the slowest. These rides are about building confidence and ability. Average length 1-1.5 hours approx. Average speed 4-7 mph approx. (For comparison purposes a fast walk is around 3.5 mph!)
We ask that you can ride for one hour on a flattish route without too much trouble before coming along.
Are you more experienced but would like some company? Do you like the challenge of the odd hill or two? (Although we always wait at the top for those taking a slower pace/walking!) Are you ready to push yourself a little to increase your fitness? Are you happy to break into the occasional sweat? Ride Steady routes are probably best for you.
Thursdays 9:45am for 10:00am.
These rides are largely on quiet roads or traffic free paths, working at the pace of the slowest with occasional hills, and some rougher sections. Weekdays average length 1.5 hours approx, pub rides are a little longer, up to 2- 2.5 hours. Average speed 8-10 mph approx.
If you've been out with us a few times and are ready to broaden your cycling horizons and take on a bit more of a challenge, trying a couple of steeper hills perhaps, or a few more of them, but still at a pace you'll be comfortable with, try our Ride Well routes.
Occasional Thursdays 9:45am for 10:00am.
In any event these rides of up to 2.5 hours are designed to give you a rich cycling experience with viewpoints and places of interest along the way. They are on a mixture of mostly quiet roads and bridleways but may include some rougher more challenging terrain- think mud in winter! We are all out to enjoy the experience of sharing the ride with a group of people also out to enjoy themselves on their bikes.
Evenings & weekends.
These are aimed at intermediate riders who have been riding our Ride Steady or Ride Well routes, although we wil lstill work at the pace of the slowest, see ride information for specific details. More often than not our evening and weekend rides will involve a stop at a local pub or cafe.
Still not sure which group would be best? Please contact us for friendly advice.
